Over a month and no updates… Clearly, I haven’t had the time to do much with this site. I’m thinking maybe in a couple months a complete revamp - but until then here are some quick updates…
* Leaving work early and putting the bike in winter storage. Its been a great 9K mile season with a TON of memories.
* Going home to NY this weekend. Its my Dad’s birthday (10/31) and Zack/Jamie are having a big halloween party. So what better weekend to make a trek home.
* Next week, Thurs-Sun I’m going to Las Vegas with friends and family to celebrate my arriving 30th birthday. We’re staying at Planet Hollywood and it is going to be a BLAST! This epic moment has become know as the release of The Vision 3.0
Besides all this, I continue to work hard / play hard in the city.
This summer has mostly been all about the Harley and others goings on. So I haven’t really posted about Randy, Duke and Little Robbie in a long time. Little Rob has been flowering for the past month which has been nice. But this week, Duke started to not look right and has now completely died.
As you can see in the picture below, on the right, he has just dried up into a dead branch. I can only assume Orchid Cancer. This may also prove to be the end for the rest of the plant which I’ve had since November 2007. RIP.
In other news, U2 at Gillette was pretty intense. Simply the biggest & most elaborate stage ever. There is a reason the stage cost $40 million alone.
Duke is dead… RIP.
Long time no updates.. ha.. Been really busy these days with work and going out as usual. Last couple weekends, I’ve gotten some great rides on the bike. This weekend though, I’ve had to work Saturday/Sunday due to a huge project being released on Monday.
The good news though is tomorrow night I’m going with Arty to U2 at Gillette Stadium. So I’m leaving work at around 3PM and we’re heading down on the Harleys. The stage is a huge 360 degree monster - the biggest of any tour in history. Should be sick… I can’t wait..
Here is a pic off the net .. This is actually pretty comparable where we’ll be just up a little and a little more to the right in the stadium.
Wow, what a long time with no updates! What have I been up to?
Well, this past weekend I was in NY and got to visit with a ton of family. My Aunt Eileen was up from FL so we had multiple gatherings of all my other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.. I also went to the county fair with Zack & Jamie where I attempted to milk fake cows.
Besides this, I’ve been taking the Harley out, crushin on girls, working hard.. the norm..
This week has been pretty crazy for me. I’ve been busy at work and have also been lucky enough to have two great dates with a girl named Jess. We’re going kayaking on Sunday together!!!
Yesterday was our company party at Canobie Lake Park in NH. Its basically like Great Escape only a little smaller. I drove the harley up, went on some rides with friends and enjoyed a nice catered lunch. This afternoon, because I’m sneaking out of work early, I’m headed out to Chad’s to hang out. Not sure what our plans are exactly but it’ll be nice to get out of the city. Then I’ll either be back Saturday or Sunday for kayaking!!!
Here is a quick of me being a ham on the swings that a co-worker took before they started up.
Downing some awesome fried dough….
Being back to work this week of course sucks - but it could be a lot worse. Tonight, I’m headed over to see Sir Paul McCartney play Fenway with Arty. The concert last night at Fenway sounded awesome so I’m really looking forward to seeing tonight. It’s the closest thing you can get to seeing The Beatles play and I look forward to enjoying it.
This weekend I don’t really have too many set plans. Its supposed to be great weather so you know I’ll have the bike out and about.
I can’t talk about any details other then to say that things have proceeded very slowly. This is a major criminal case, and with that, proceedings are run very carefully and very slowly to ensure the order of the law.
Because of this, I will be in court at LEAST through Friday of this week, and most likely into next week. This means my trip to NY and the start of my vacation is now totally up in the air. I have not decided if I want to drive to NY on Friday night if I do have to report to superior court on Monday. I may simply miss the big party in NY on Saturday..
I think it’d be good for me to get out of the city, so if weather isn’t a factor I’m leaning towards that direction. However, this has been an extremely draining 3 days, and is so incredibly mentally heavy, with the extreme consequences for the accused parties involved.. I’m just not sure what I will be up for or I’ll be able to get into the party mood.. So, I’m sorry in advance if I don’t end up making it.
After a lengthy day of empanelment on a civil case and criminal case, I was unfortunately selected as an official juror for a substantial criminal case today. I can’t give any details, but the Judge has told us that they expect this trial to last 3-4 days and that she’ll have a better idea after the trail starts. The court case starts at 9AM tomorrow with court getting out at 4PM each day. Multiple felonies, multiple defedents, some translators.. Its a small buffet of legal stuff..
My HOPE is this wraps by Friday because I’m scheduled to be on vacation from 7/20 - 7/31 for a HUGE road trip out west on the Harley!! If things go according to plan.. I’ll be heading to NY on Friday. Saturday I’m going to Zack and Jamie’s HUGGE party. And then Sunday, I head west and continue west for a few days.. I’m going to stay a night with my sister in Omaha. And I expect to be in Aspen, CO by Wednesday or possibly Thursday. Stay there at Maurie’s for a few days of party’s, paragliding, spa/massage treatment (I’ll be really sore after days of riding) and then hit the road back east on 7/27…
The trip is over 4,300 miles long, 11 states total in 2 weeks.. Just a man, his Harley and the open road.. Can’t wait.. I’m taking I-80 out and I-70 back part of the way to change it up. I see something cool.. I’ll stop.. No diehard schedules.. Hopefully, I don’t get too drunk and hungover on the locals homemade corn liquor through the Plains and delay the trip.
Just a quick post for this weekend.. Parents got in fine on Friday evening and we just chilled.. Saturday morning we had breakfast at my favorite breakfast place in the city, The Pour House… Then it was off to the Tall Ships (http://www.sailboston.com) for the day.. We did a ton of walking starting up by the USS Constitution and Navy Yard and worked our way down the harbors south to see all the ships. Then we had a really nice early dinner in Chinatown and it was back to the house where everyone collapsed. Sunday morning, breakfast at IHOP on the way back to my work and they headed home.
Tomorrow I have to report for Jury Duty for the second time since I’ve moved to Boston. Hopefully, I don’t get sequestered or on some huge trial because I have travel plans starting Friday (still to be officially announced).
A couple pics from the weekend…
Weekend in Maine was a lot of fun. I hit a good amount of traffic heading up on Friday, which is somewhat my fault for leaving right before lunch time, but I still made it up in a decent amount of time [w/lunch stop].
Once everyone made it to the camp Friday, we set out for some shoreline fishing, and caught absolutely nothing. I didn’t really do any fishing, I just relaxed and drank a couple beers though. We also didn’t end up chartering a boat so getting sea sick wasn’t a factor this year. Friday night, we grilled and just chilled at the campsite drinking and battling some thunderstorms. Luckily, Chad and Skip engineered a great tarp over a majority of the camp site so we actually held strong for most everything.
Saturday, we went out to breakfast and a hit up a huge hunting/sporting shop the guys like. I have never been to one before but they’re huge: Cabela’s. Then we went back to campsite for a few hours to chill. Had a nice Lobster dinner out and hit up the strip for fireworks and partying.
We were up super late but still managed to get up early this morning, broke down camp and hit the road back south. Luckily, I had no traffic problems this time and it was smooth sailing back to Boston. Once I got home, I took a shower and passed back out with the sox game in the background.
I didn’t take many pictures, because a lot of it was just chilling at the campsite, but they’ve been loaded to facebook for everyone. Here is a couple quick ones… They were handing out viewing glasses at the pier that made fireworks look more sparkly - so we had some fun with it. ha. Back to work tomorrow… blah..
Zeus’ first camping trip…
